Preliminary Stages of a New Body of Work

Embracing the lens and the digital dark room - I intend to focus on wintery Catskill landscapes over the coming months...

I am new to your blog but I think I will enjoy it. I am a photographer too and used a camera for many years professionally, and only more recently in an artistic sense. I so agree with you about the connection of nature with spirituality. Whenever I'm upset or frustrated and angry or depressed, I go outside and I am healed. Many times my husband has to remind me to go, but it always works. I'm a gardener too and that's a god-send.

I forgot... I love the photo of the old barn. They fascinate me and this one from your chosen perspective is wonderful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts Coneflower and for your kinds words about my work. I can relate to your comment about going outside "to be healed." I find being near bodies of water very restorative...

My husband needs the water. I'm restored by getting my hands in the dirt. I start getting nervous about February or March having clean nails so I've begun to start my own plants from seed. :-)

David is particularly fond of Lake Erie since he grew up on it.

I suspect I'm fond of water because I grew up near a creek and much of my childhood was spent there...
